Rudolf Czipott

Rudolf Czipott (Slovene: Rudolf Cipot) (January 14 or June 18, 1825, Hodoš – May 20, 1901.) Slovene evangelic pastor and writer in Hungary.

Early life

His father György Czipott writer, pastor and teacher of Hodoš, born near Murska Sobota. Mother Erzsébet Hutter, German descent, daughter of the pastor of Kukmirn (Burgenland). Rudolf's brothers Lajos and József.

Rudolf's father dead in 1834. The Czipott family was move in Sopron. Here studied in the Evangelic Lyceum, by 1847 studied in Vienna, who was private teacher.
In 1848 Czipott battle to in the First Revolution of Vienna. After the revolution he went home and ministrated in Kővágóörs, near Balaton. Here lived the late Slovenian poet Mihály Barla as well.
In 1853 Czipott and his mother moved in Vése (Somogy). Czipott's mother died in 1884.

In 1858 the pastor of Puconci Sándor Terplán died, Czipott received the parish of Puconci. Here he died in 1901.
